Got some more steel coming next week, I should be able to finish the firebox and transfer tube and plate out the cook chamber. I have a rough budget so I'm keeping a running total of both £££ and hours just so I can justify to myself is cheaper than buying one.

Have you drilled this back wall with a series of holes, to allow heat into chamber?

You will also have to weld on a Box section the same thickness as the main frame and to cover the holes say 75 mm sq. It is best to weld this in first before welding the fire Box in. I also made a “cage” that fits over these holes inside the fire Box, it stops charcoal blocking the holes and stopping heat going in to the chamber. That was something that I found out by trial and error.
