  1. I know.....I've been thinking about the Inkbird 6 probe one...it's not a silly price, but do you want a probe in every burger, sausage on the grill?? ?? Ice
  2. That's another one I've been looking at....just waiting to see what happens...knowing my luck I'll miss out on all of it... ?
  3. I'm also after a rotisserie that would be a welcome addition for us.
  4. I like it as it has 3 probes, 2x meat...1x oven.. it only has 2 slots but that means we'll just have to swap say the oven for a meat one for a few mins....no problem.
  5. I'm hoping this one will fall......https://www.amazon.co.uk/Inkbird-Digital-Wireless-Thermometer-Grilling/dp/B076FB51TY/ref=sr_1_cc_6?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1531744726&sr=1-6-catcorr&keywords=inkbird+thermometer+bbq
  6. I'm looking at an Inkbird on Amazon, holding back at the moment as it's Prime sale day now....35 hours left..watching to see it the bird drops in price. ?
  7. Yes mate...thanks....it arrived as promised on the Fri...two box's sat in the living room. We carried them out on to the patio and thought we'll make a start now and finish her off on the Sat. We got stuck in and within a couple of hours...if that...it was sat there just waiting for a bucket of hot coals. Sanity prevailed thank goodness, I want to get all if not most of the mods fixed before we fire her up. It won't be this weekend as we're off to Billing, taking the Brinkman for that, we don't have anything planned for the weekend after so that's looking good for her maiden run. Ice.
  8. I may order the same when we come back from hols in Sept...
  9. Is this the model ??... https://thermometer.co.uk/barbecue-thermometers/1238-smoke-wireless-barbecue-thermometer.html Ice.
  10. It's a minefield these days with loads of things you buy, you take it for granted that the company/persons your buying from know their stuff.... Caveat emptor.
  11. Order 4x10kg bags and get free P&P next day del...at least that way you can save a little bit... ? maybe??
  12. We have a couple of meat thermometers that we've used in the kitchen for a long time, as they may not be that accurate these days...I think it's time to take a step up the ladder. We're in the market for a digital one but not sure which to choose, I know the "inkbird" name from my brewing hobby. I have a couple of fermentation fridges that are run via pid. Last weekend when we did the gammon and fattie we only had the one probe to use and it was a bit of a PITA. ? Ice.
  13. Just in case anyone is thinking about a Thermapen they have some Discounted Colours at 25% off. https://thermapen.co.uk/superfast-thermapen-3/48-superfast-thermapen-3-discounted-colours.html Ice
  14. I'm sure the stuff I have is glass fibre, I remember reading the info at the site where I purchased it. ?
  15. I've never seen or heard of these until I started on here, putting out a search yesterday I found them on Amazon .....https://www.amazon.co.uk/Heat-Beads-Easy-Lite-BBQ-Fuel/dp/B005F3XCBG/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1531634089&sr=8-3&keywords=heat+beads+bbq Thinking hhhmmm £12.25, wonder how far they will go?? 4kg?? Decided (as is my whim these days) to have another look elsewhere...found these...https://www.bbqworld.co.uk/heat-beads/australian-heat-beads-4kg-bag.asp £6.95 Wow, that'll do me, that was until you add £5 p&p, you just can't win some days.. ? Ice
  16. Cheers Wade, sat here thinking about it and if I remember right, the fire rope I've got says it is in fact not asbestos. Will have to check on it when we return home later today. Ice
  17. Bloody hell....never thought about that...will have to check the stuff I've bought.
  18. Well done...I think I may have a go and follow in your footsteps, as we have a big family do on the 4th Aug. I've watched a few of his videos....have you a link to the pork injection that you used?? just had a look and can't see it. Ice.
  19. (Just lost signal...away in the caravan this weekend)...I've got 15mm rope for the lid and also some 5mm flat will have a go on Mon after work.
  20. What thickness of fire rope did you use ?? I've got to have a go at the Brinkman before Billing....
  21. Looking good dude.... where's the beer ?
  22. Like a lot of folks we've been having BBQ's forever, and I mean years. Like lots of folks, our BBQ's have been burgers, sausages, chicken wings etc. A few years earlier while staying with friends in France we learnt to do a "beer can chicken", this opened our eyes, they also did hot & cold smoking, we got to talking and thought maybe we can do the same. In 2016 we went out and ordered a Brinkman Smoker, because of health problems we didn't get to use it. That all changed at the start of this year, out of the shed it came, dusted it off and fired her up. While searching for info for recipes and new ideas I came across this forum, so here we go, looking forward to Billing next weekend and learning from the experts..
  23. @Steve. We see from your recipe that you do indirect cooking...will this work on our bullet smoker??? With the gammon on the bottom grill and lamb on the top one ? Will this be ok...we appreciate your thoughts. ? 2x Ice's.
