    Which end ??

Thanks thats what I thought, but just wanted to make sure, I'm only doing a small amount as it's our first time. ?

    Which end ??

Not sure as Rosemary bought other meats as well, all together £40. The last ribs cost £21 from him, I've got to get a Bookers card as they are only 20 mins away.

    Which end ??

Rosemary collected a spare ribs from our local butchers today, now this may seem like a daft question, but which end would you use for bacon?? My mind says the think end over the thin end??
  4. Now booked...we don't know what time we'll turn up, we have to catch a flight from Faro at 10.00 on that Friday. Ice.
  5. If you had been about on Saturday morning, you would have seen a small band of enthusiasts prepping manly meat, ribs, brisket. Paul aka (The negative one) did two ducks, we did a gammon with a apricot glaze and had a go at Steve ( Smoking Monkey ) boned lamb. Fires where started early as some of the dishes would take 3 maybe 4 hours, we were aiming for around 5pm to sit down to the feast that was being prepared right before our eyes. During the cooking period members would cook up a small dish of chicken wings, sausages kebabs , what ever they fancied everyone had a chance to try. By mid morning the smell was great and it was travelling all over the site. I lost count of the number of people that came to see what was going on, most asked if we were selling, we had to say sorry not for sale, but come back about 6pm and help yourselves to whatever you want free of charge . To be continued later.....
  6. We're now booked for the weekend, as we return from Portugal on Friday 14th, we won't be able to camp. They have no pods left so we've booked into a pub about 10 mins drive . Ice.
  7. Cheers Wade, It's all ready to go back.....I'm not too bad with the old computers I played around with Linux a few years back, I'm thinking of having another try. Ice.
  8. I buy the odd thing off of Amazon, as I knackered my laptop by being a COG (clumsy old git ) by knocking it over then lost my balance and trod on the screen. I ordered a new laptop yesterday for delivery today, it arrived today so I took it out of it's box, plugged in, and switch it on. It started to boot, stopped, started reboot, stopped, started reboot, after another 4 or 5 goes I gave up, it's now back in the box, and will be winging it's way back to them tomorrow. Needless to say I'll never buy anything like a pc from them again.....so I'll have to make do with my phone and tablet until I can go into Warwick this weekend. .... ? Ice.
  9. What can I say about the event??? it was a brilliant time for Rosie & myself. To start off with, this was the first time either of us had been to anything like it We were like the proverbial newbies in every sense of the word, but everyone was so cool and kind, giving us tips and showing us how to do stuff. After a wet Friday start setting up the area where we would be working, read cooking, on the Saturday we settled down to "chewing the fat " with a load of new friends. Tomorrow was to be our big maiden voyage on the SS Brinkman...more to follow with photos soon. Just a few photos the I took of the event. .....
  10. The two parties that turned up through Facebook thought they had booked into the weekend. It was very easy to see what had happened. I don't do FB but is there a way that any post put on FB could be a "sticky "??? So folks would know that they have to book via the forum?? Just my 2 cents ? Ice
  11. https://youtu.be/p12z3_kzmPg Just uploaded the Friday cloud burst we had, it's via this link only as I've locked it as private, if admin thinks it's ok and no body else objects I can open it for public viewing. ..otherwise it'll stay for our eyes only. ? Ice.
  12. We're now home, car unpacked, full tummy and a drop of the hard stuff in hand....here goes, with what happened at Woodsmoke 18... (I thought that was right Steve ???) ? First off a really big thank you to everyone there, it was great making new freinds as being a newbie at any get together can be a little daunting. We arrived about 15.30 on Friday, we stopped at the reception and eventually go showed to where we had to setup. Within minutes Steve & Jill turned up, followed by Justin, very soon we had Steve & Paul staying in a pod. Scott was not far behind, then I lost track of time as we went mad erecting tents, gazebos getting everything ready for the big day.....by now Mr & Mrs Wade along with everyone else had arrived. No rain for Friday, or so the weather app said.....don't TRUST them....it pi***d down, (video to follow ?) just as we we're all getting comfortable chatting and partaking of the falling down water. Well not one drop of rain was going to spoil our weekend, we may have got a smidgen damp, but hey as the old adage says " we where as happy as pigs in muck' ? Saturday dawned dry and hot, after a great breakfast prepared by Justin & Ice Ice Lady we all set about prepping meats/ingredients and starting smokers. . ...more to come. Ice.
  13. For those that didn't make it to Woodsmoke18 you missed an amazing experience. We're now on our first cuppa of the day, getting ready to break camp....full writeup with plenty of evidence oopps, mean photo's ? later when we get back home. Ice.
  14. Great....just got home having a cuppa then got to load the car that's going to be fun... ? we are hoping to be on our way by 13.30 as well.
  15. Ok..no Hickory which I thought I'd got ...but I do have Oak chips...one Jim Bean t'other one J D.. ? will bring both if ant good?? We can bring jacket spuds but the chance of them being King E is most unlikely, in fact, it's probably not a snowball chance in hell.
  16. My workload tomorrow should see me finish around 1400.....then load the car, if it all goes in... ? ETA to Billing around 1500/15.30 so looking good. I'll have a butchers if I have any Hickory, don't think there will be any Oak.
  17. Another thought.....how many of us are with our partners????

    Hello

Hello from me and the misses Mark, bit short notice but there's a do on this weekend near Northampton. All about BBQ'ing & smoking, cook up a load of food and all have a great time.. Ice.
  19. Link to the camp site.... https://www.billingaquadrome.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/park_map.pdf Hope it helps us all to find Steve & Wade on Fri.... Ice.
  20. Good choice matey, from what we can see on the plan it looks like it'll serve us well.
  21. When I rang to book I thought about Teal meadow when I told her we were with Smoker18 she said I'll put you in the same place...Shelduck. Which looks nice on their plan of the site., near showers & toilets. Ice
  22. Just been thinking about arriving on Friday, we hope to get there between 1600/1700. We'll have to find where we're camping, we were told we would be in the same area... Shelduck Meadow 3 Electric. We'll be in a black Citroen C5 Est. REG BU09 VHK. Justin will be in...EY67 VAD. We will wait to pitch the tent until either Wade & Steve turn up as we don't want to pitch a mile away but on the other hand we don't want to pitch in the spot that's been chosen to host the event. Also, Justin is along with us on the one pitch, can't wait now, we've not been camping for yonks, as we have the caravan. I've spent today sorting out the rest of our camping stuff, along with the gazebo. The weather is going to be excellent and we are going to have a great time.. Ice.
