Website Founded in the US by the late great Josh Ozersky and brought to the UK by chef Richard H Turner, Meatopia is a festival of high quality, ethically sourced meat, all cooked over ethically sourced wood and charcoal by some of the world’s leading top chefs. A weekend-long love affair of meat, drink, fire and music, Meatopia UK has become a legendary event for food lovers.
  2. Never thought of using the plaster board type of fitting
  3. @Wade, great review on the new “Cook4All” The lowering of the bottom vents have had a positive effect on the air control. Using the side slide vents for a cooling effect to reduce the temperature, is not really cost effective, as you introducing cold air, while the coals are burning hotter due to air leakage from the bottom. The result being increased fuel usage. The better option is to blank one of the bottom holes.
  4. Yes the same adaptor as the WSM would fit your ProQ. Think I have mentioned this before, you will need some thing to hold the adaptor to thr ProQ. Looking at the adaptor, my suggestion is a long spring similar to below. Pass the spring through two holes of the ProQ then use the hook ends through the two holes of the adaptor. I can not see ash getting in to the fan. If it happens, get a tin can cut top and bottom off and use this as a shield. This would also direct the air to charcoal if it’s placed for indirect cooking at the other side of fire bowl. Yes I think you would need to charge the batteries separately with that. Look in Maplins they should have the battery holders. And the solder a connector to the wires?
  5. Scott, as promised at last years Smokers Weekend, if you can wait until July, you can have my Beer Keg Tandoor. That’s if Wade has the room in his trailer to transport it home!
  6. Easy question first, I have bought four units separately, and paid no custom tax. Second to easiest, the QLight to run the ProQ Elite, 10 CFM blower included, would be ample. Batteries, not used 8 AA batteries as advertised on the website. I ordered a rechargeable battery similar size as a Laptop power adaptor. Reading a bit about batteries. These are figures are examples only. If you wire 8AA batteries (1.5 v and 500mah) in parallel this will give you 1.5 v and 4000mah. If you wired six in series, this will give you 12 v and 500mah. If you then wire 8 banks of 8 parallel wired batteries in series this would give you 12v and 32000mah.
  7. I built a Tandoor Oven out of a Beer Keg. Works really well. When I am back, I will take some photos and post them up.

  15. Spatchcock the Chicken, lift the skin I use fingers first to lift the skin over the breast, then a spoon to get right down over the legs etc. Then mix butter with what ever Flavours your Mother likes. Push the butter under the skin, use the spoon to get it right in. Then cook as you normally would, but it will cook quicker as it is Spatchcocked.
  16. With the new side vents it certainly looks like a better Machine
  17. That’s interesting, that it’s branded as the new model, but is the old model! @Wade has contact with Simon, he might throw some light on this.
  18. Glad you like the prizes. As @Wade said, there will be plenty of competition in the coming year.
  19. Hi Matt, Smoking/BBQ is like an habit! Lots of advice on here for all the things you have mentioned above. James from @Smokewood is a founder member of the Forum, and also advertisers on here to help with the running costs. Your wife is a Vegetarian, no need for her to feel left out. Have a look at my Whole Roasted Cabbage, substitute the Bacon for Veggie Chorizo or similar and Chicken Stock for Veggie Stock.
