  1. and finally cleveleys morrisons just got there big k delivery .. wife brought one home .. £17 with staff discount ... winner ...lol so about 45kg of charcoal .. might do a week or so ..
  2. to be honest i'd just use lump wood charcoal then add a wood of your choice getting mine from here atm https://www.smokewoodshack.com/ cherry apple and maple ... a small chunk every 1/2 hr to hr but it's up to you in the long run .. if you enjoy the logs then why not ..

  5. so picked up some b&q blue bag charcoal today 12kg £12 .. did some steaks and burgers took a bit longer to get going but the heat was there and there are some good size pieces but there are some small ones .. for £12 yeah there fine to cook with .. will update later in the week going to do some beef ribs on the smoker ..

  7. strange the thicker steel gives a better temp holding range and even cook .. or that's what i have been led to believe ? since in the uk we are not normally blessed with such good weather

  9. as to offset the thicker the steel the better .. but not had or used those .. but will be getting a 3.5-5mm offset when the new house is complete well unless the wife spends what we have left ..

  12. no pic's ... did a spatchcock chicken tonight .. with the inkbird therm 2 probes in the offset .. got to say the one on the lid is 50deg shy ..lol so with some playing got it up to 140c and it stayed there till 74 deg c will do it without water next time as it took a while nearly 2 hrs or have a bigger fire going ..

  14. tonight cajun chicken breast with a tom & basil salad .. on the grill bbq tom steak and wings with salad .. sun leg of lamb on the smoker ..and salad .. eating way to much as i'm off work so a nice balance of ..... salad ..

  17. to be honest probably .. will do 2 jobs in one you can smoke and grill on it ..
  18. the grill plates stick out the back .. i just put bolts thru and sealed it .. dremeled the ends off .. wood stove glass fibre rope .. cheap as chips .. and high temp sealant ..

  23. it's the same one i got from aldi .. it's going to need sealing Hight temp silicone around all the joints then where the grates go out the back i cut them off dremel and put 4 bolts thru and sealed the holes ...then round the firebox and cooking area Self Stick Adhesive Gasket but yeah works ok. some pic's in this post https://www.woodsmokeforum.uk/topic/2894-rolled-brisket/
  24. even tho a little over cooked like mine bet it tasted great .. just ordered a dual thermometer you know ya need one
