novaswift
Anyone had experience with these? Totally new to the idea of smoking and planning on buying one. Ive seen the Razzo 18 on eBay for 164 which is less than other sellers. Any advice would be great thanks.
Smokin Monkey
Once again, welcome to the Forum. These are the same principle as the Pro Q and WSM, you should have no problem with this.
Rob
Go for it! I've got one and love it.
novaswift
Many thanks folks. £164 seemed a good deal considering other sellers are between 3- £400 for the same item. I'm waiting to hear from the seller. Thanks again.
Skagg2000
I have a 22" Razzo & a 18" ProQ. I certainly rate the build quality of the Razzo. £164 is a cracking price. Welcome BTW Cheers n Gon Nick

novaswift
Well Ive taken delivery and built it up. Can anyone advise the best way to do the first burn? Sorry for all my questions
Icefever
No problems Nova.....just use a chimney if you have one and start your charcoal, or whatever you are using, are you just doing a "burn"?? if so why not pop a chuck in it and give it a good run?? Ice.
novaswift
I'll certainly try that thanks.
novaswift
First born tonight. Used half chimney of heat beads with some cheap lump charcoal which unfortunately stinks. Been on without the water pan for around an hour The temperature gauge seems reasonably accurate . Might try actually cooking at the weekend. Weather here in Scotland isn't the best at the moment 😆

The charcoal is not the "Easylight" stuff is it?? 9 hours ago, novaswift said: The temperature gauge seems reasonably accurate . Did you compare the smoker gauge against a digi one?? Ice. novaswift
Yes it was a wee drop of the easy light I had lying around. Never again. I checked with a new digi probe and it looked maybe 5 degrees out. First time I've used heat beeds for anything and impressed with their lack of smoke but long lasting heat

It's easy done 😂 I've used it in the past before I see the light, when I see folks buying it I feel like telling them what makes it "easylight" 🤢 Checking with the digi thermo shows were you are with the smoker....if you do cook over the weekend have a great time...enjoy. 👍. novaswift
Another newbie question sorry. When using the water pan do folk use hot or cold water to start? I'm sorry it seems such a daft question 🤡
Smokin Monkey
Go with hot water, then you are not using energy to heat the water.

If you do decide to try it buy a bag of Play sand from B&M, Homebase, it's clean for using in the kids sandpit. Ice.

I was wondering what sand to use, and since I’ll need to get more play sand for the little ones sand pit, then it’ll be two birds with one stone.
