Not sure what I will use it for, but it will keep me out of trouble during the Winter building it
Wade
So you are not thinking of selling them as flat pack kits then
Smokin Monkey
What a bit like Ikea?
Diggerg
I like this and I'm currently pricing up steel for it. I've printed the drawings and converted to metric but the only measurement I don't have is the exhaust diameter and height. Any info would be great.
Smokin Monkey
The exhaust diameter and height I will measure tomorrow and post up.
Icefever
Well done, as you've said it'll keep you out of trouble. Ice
Diggerg
So I've priced my steel box section steel plate insulation castors and some fancy stainless steel handles and I'm all in for under £450. With the pid,fan and bits and bobs I'm looking at £460 tops. I'm lucky that I can do all the steel work at work in my own time. The only other cost will be paint but i fancy something a bit special so that needs more investigation.

Hi Smokin any update on the exhaust? Looking at the drawings I guess the heat transfer tube is 75mm box?
Smokin Monkey
Sorry, busy couple of days. Yes it’s 75mm Box Section, with a 60mm round hole (easier to cut with a hole saw)

This include everything I can think of. This is all steel including mesh for shelving, everything for the pid controller, catches and some blingy stainless steel handles and paint. I'm still happy as a stumps of equivalent size is about £3800 plus shipping from the US. Edited December 17, 2018 by Diggerg
Smokin Monkey
If you look at the Pro Q Range they start around £2500.00! Its well worth the time and effort to build one your sell, and you can show it of to friends as well!
Diggerg
The proq 2150 is nearly 4k for the same size. Winner winner chicken dinner ( and ribs and brisket) for home builds
Smokin Monkey
You can always use round tube for the exhaust, easier to weld into place.(Without the bottom flange)
Diggerg
That's handy as I've just received a set of these and 2 intake ones from the US. As usual though postage was more than the parts 😡
ridleyrumpus
Where are you getting the plans for the Gravity BBQ in the UK. I can find imperial measurement ones but won't that make sourcing the material a bit tricky?
Smokin Monkey
I supplied the plans, but they are in imperial, from America.
