Dick Bee
I'm looking to buy a vacuum sealer. For my purposes there are a few in the £40 range. I've got it down to an Aicok, an Andrew James, or a Bonsenkitchen. Does anyone have experience of any of these, or any other recommendations please? Icefever
Sorry mate can't help with the above makes. I know from buying our very first one, (we're now on number 3) that the cheaper ones, you get what you pay for. Our first one after we used the bags that came with it, we could not buy any more anywhere. We tried the bags/rolls we have now but it would not seal like the element was not up to the job. Our second one has been ok, we've had that one for 3 years, but alas that did start to play up a while back. That's why we bought our new one a couple of weeks back....for just over your £40 range you may want to take a look at this one... so far we are chuffed with it. https://www.appliancesdirect.co.uk/p/eiqhdvsp/electriq-eiqhdvsp-vacuum-sealer Ice. Dick Bee
Thanks Ice. Looks like a good item, £20 more expensive on Amazon, so good price too. I'll speak to Mrs Bee!

Dick Bee
Thanks Justin. Is it easy to get replacement bags when they run out?
Wade
With these home vacuum packers you need to buy textured/embossed bags as these help the air to flow as it is sucked out. These are readily available online and a company I have been using for many years for my vacuum bags and pouches is The Vacuum Pouch Company. Never had a problem with them and their prices are good too. If you search for the rolls/bags online you will find quite a few cheap sellers on Ebay - but before you consider buying from there make sure that they are food quality and check the bag thickness. You really need 70 micron or above. Dick Bee
Thanks for the advice gentlemen. I'm going to try the one Justin recommended. I'll remember your advice on the bags too, Wade.
sotv
The brand I use for my vacuum sealer Luvele, have a bit of a sale on their textured rolls at the moment 36m of 22cm for £19.95 and 28cm for £22.95 delivered. Shame you can't mix and match. But pretty good value for the quantity I thought. Vacuum sealers and the dehydrator at good prices also Luvele
Wade
Here are a couple of links that might help you make your choice https://uk.bestreviews.guide/vacuum-sealers https://loveyourkitchen.co.uk/vacuum-food-sealer-machines/ When buying your additional rolls/bags be sure to get ones of a width that will fit into your vacuum sealer. Some sealers have extra large sealing bars and bags for these will not fit the standard, smaller sealers.
