AdamG
Hi all, My name is Adam and decided to join this forum so I could talk to others about barbecue (rather than me boring people to death with me talking lol). I originally started out on a cheap horizontal smoker....and within a few months I could see the limitations of it (it was a really cheap budget one). 6 years later (last july) I finally got a Kamado grill and I have been very happy with taking the plunge. Even though I have been grilling for 7 years I would still consider myself a newbie since the old grill was only used when the weather was nice (a handful of times each year with our weather!) Thanks for reading and here are some pics of recent cooks I have done Edited April 7, 2020 by AdamG re-worded one line
Tabs
Welcome! You'll have to excuse me, I'm not up to speed with the ceramic BBQ's, but what is that plate you're using to adapt the heat source for use with pans?
AdamG
that is the cast iron grate that usually goes under the charcoal (to stop charcoal falling into the ash pan and blocking airflow), the charcoal in this cook is held in a basket. That was an experimental idea to see if I could emulate a gas hob for cooking rice and it worked quite well😀

hoogl
Love the idea of throwing a wok on the BBQ. Food looks great. I know how you feel, I bore my friends and gf all the time about my smoking. I'm sure that's how they feel.
