  1. I dont see why not, my deflector plates and ceramic pizza plate seems identical in build/materials wise....i sometimes use my pizza stone as a deflector plate. in the picture I am using my pizza stone as a hotplate/hob. The metal underneath is a wok stand and the middle of the pizza stone is over direct heat.
  2. Impressed you especially with that price😉
  3. Definitely going to show my wife these pictures👍 Is that the lidl mini kamado you have aswell?
  4. Fantastic work Toucs! Completely different looking space👍👍 We aint sure what to do with the bottom of our garden thats next to the shed (pretty much a mirror image to yours with the shed location). I think you may have decided what its to be used for😁 Currently doing a countertop for my kamado...long winded since more important jobs keep getting in the way😩 Thanks for the inspiration😁😁👍
  5. Thanks nbr_uk I was going to drill 40mm holes spaced evenly down the length of a rectangle. Then cut it in half through the middle of the holes (to get 2 wok crowns)...when I asked my boss he said do them on the laser cutter so winner! Then I just rolled and tig welded them👍
  6. These do look really good as a starting point. I may get one at a later date to go along side mine. I have managed to source some offcuts of stainless steel angle that I decided to use. Already cut and mitred....just waiting for a free weekend to weld them up😩 Thanks for the heads up😁👍
  7. I made a couple of wok stands today on my dinner break out of some scrap stainless steel. Thought I would put a couple of pics on here. One will fit over the Monolith fireplate outlet hole and the other I will put on a table like in the picture....hopefully they are wide enough once there is food in the wok haha
  8. I do most of mine from scratch aswell, apart from the base sauce. The tubs we have work out nicely. One tub does 1 curry to serve 4. We have 2 servings on the day i make a curry then the last 2 the next day👍
  9. Could well be, been 3 years since classic 3 launched or maybe a new accessory to sell to a bigger user base?
  10. Congrats on your purchase! I wonder if Pittmab can resist the shiny temptation? 🤣😂🍻
  11. I would be tempted myself...my wife would not be impressed though! Haha
  12. I was meaning to do that batch a while ago, full steam ahead now its done😋 Im glad you liked the post aswell👍
  13. No problem Justin, this is the link to the one that I used: https://greatcurryrecipes.net/2013/12/31/make-indian-restaurant-style-curry-sauce-large-batch/ Full credit goes to The Curry Guy (Dan Toombs) for the base sauce. Ingredients are waaay down the bottom of the page. There is a smaller batch version that he makes on his website if you would prefer that. I usually get 32 servings per batch. I normally cook 4 or 8 servings at a time with different curries, great for midweek quick cooks aswell as long slow cooks👍
  14. Took me best part of 5 years to get my wife on board with getting mine haha. The justification will come once your cooking allsorts on it👍 Have you just decided or have you bit the bullet and ordered?
  15. I reckon....that there is enough for me to have some leftovers😋😋 Looks great!
  16. Thanks smokin monkey👍🍻
  17. Thats a shame it does not work
  18. Not in any particular order... 1st is the cpl distribution (now changed its name to coals2u) blue bag lumpwood that alot of people seem to like. I personally think its good but I prefer others https://www.coals2u.co.uk/restaurant-charcoal.html 2nd is EBC (EverBurningCharcoal). I have not bought from these for a couple of years as it seems they sell out quite often. Only thing I didnt like was it seems to produce more ash...however it seems to perform just fine and the quality was very consistent https://everburningcharcoal.co.uk/collections/restaurant-grade-charcoal/products/15kg-real-hardwood-lumpwood-restaurant-charcoal-for-bbq-and-restaurant 3rd is what I am using currently (ebc was sold out again) and 1st impressions is very good, a contender for my favourite one although I have only had 1 order so we will see what 2nd order is like. https://www.log-delivery.co.uk/premium-restaurant-charcoal-10kg-blue-bags Hope these help. I normally buy 5 bags at a time since nowhere local sells decent stuff (and to make it better value once delivery has been added). Its all either instant light or tiny little pieces around here.👎 I get roughly a year out of one order amd I try to order out of season when demand is low.
  19. Thanks Handyjayes! Long time no see. How are you getting on with your kamado? I remember you getting a good deal on yours👍
  20. It sounds like you understood my terrible choice of words...however I have took some pictures just in case. In the first 2 pictures my logo is facing the front but notice how the middle screw is not inline with the screw that pivots the big opening. This will shut the big adjustment everytime i open the lid. In these next 2 I have rotated the whole top vent so the screws are inline when its in the desired position. Notice also my logo is facing to the right. My vent keeps its position whenever the lid is fully opened (I always have a visual check once I close it though). Only thing that can shut it is if its knocked or bumped. I hope this explains better than my last post and hopefully it works for you aswell....its only a workaround and not a proper solution but its better than nothing👍
  21. Made a batch of curry base sauce to store in the freezer yesterday and that got my taste buds going for a curry today...had everything in to make a chicken madras so that was a winner. Ingredients I kept the temp at 150C/300F to make sure it was not too hot for the rice rice done Everything ready so I dont forget to add someting🤔 Garlic, ginger and chilli paste fried for 60 seconds and then the chicken added. spice mix added followed by the tinned tomatoes finally base sauce added in and reduced slightly finished. Turned out great and super easy to do, even for a midweek cook😁 Thanks for looking👍
  22. Pretty much what pittmab said, which ever is the better deal is the one to go for since they are similar👍
  23. Is there any dealers near by where you could check one out in person and see wether its worth the extra cost to you? If you seriously consider a KJ classic 1, there is also the Monolith classic basic ( I own a Monolith classic) both come with the split firebox design and similar price last time I checked👍
  24. I was hinting to my wife about getting one but she would'nt go for it since my current one is fine haha Would be good to know your opinion on it👍
