I received my Smartfire as per the email.....DPD were spot on with their time delivery, Now I've not had time to do any more but open the case and look inside. When I ordered it you have to choose which adapter you want for whatever smoker you have. When I `open the box there was the very new type adapter that I've seen mentioned in posts and on FB. I was a little amazed as it will look so neat fitted onto the Frontier....so I'm popping a couple of photos up for anyone interested who maybe thinking of buying one. Ice. Ice.

Same here, went to Bookers yesterday for a pork butt and they had sold out....what the hells going on??? everybody cooking butt this weekend??? Never mind we are going to a friends bbq on Sat, so let some one else cook instead....I've got a big slab of bacon loin to smoke on Sunday. Ice.

ProQ just been on it's coming with the correct adapter fitting, bolt it on and keep t'other vents closed.....jobs a good..🤞 Ice.

How come these power packs don't come with a charger??? are they a mini USB socket like samsung for the charging? Ice.

It's good I'm re-reading this thread, first off I'm going to use sand instead....the foil-covered plate is a good idea....(I use foil for the ash). Like the idea of the burn towards the SF...so much to learn so little time... Ice.

You are correct mate, read somewhere on the net about this, now it makes sense....the guy was on about using a 2nd phone?? maybe use the wifes?? Just read this from you... "The bluetooth is normally used to make the initial comms with the device and give it the wifi config, from then on everything is via wifi. Another approach is to use a phone as a mobile hotspot and then manage using another phone or tablet. (The app cant run on the same device as the hotspot)." The Smartfire talks via wifi to the cloud. Your app or browser also talks to the cloud. They don't talk directly. Ice.
