It is unlikely that it will cure food while it is cooking or even season it - as they are being advertised as being reusable and lasting for many years. One site did say that it added trace elements to the food while it is cooking... maybe - but I am yet to be convinced. I would guess that the importers of these salt blocks have saturated the table lamp market and have tried to invent a new market for them in cooking.
