  1. Cheers for the heads up. I’ll keep a lookout next time I need some. Where did you buy it from?
  2. Looks delish. Can you point me towards the recipe please?
  3. I ended up using pieces of cardboard. Once all the plates were in place, they were pulled out (having left them protruding)
  4. Anyone know of any decent offers on good lumpwood at the moment?
  5. Costco’s own kamado has just come on offer. Seems to be a good package with excellent reviews. It’s reduced by £150 to £599 delivered for the next 3 weeks. Louisiana Grills 24" (60 cm) Ceramic Kamado Charcoal Barbecue in Black + Cover Hope this helps someone
  6. Not for the average bloke. Not unless you fancy herniating a disc… You should remove the firebowl to reduce weight, but given that it is ceramic, lifting it accurately into place is essential!
  7. I would agree, and go one further to say if you can get a KJ classic 1 for about ~£600, it is worth it. Having gone from an AK to a KJ, I feel that difference is worth it. slightly more cooking space, achieves temp more quickly, and seems to stay there slightly more easily. That being said, I’m a relatively inexperienced kamado owner, but I just feel the KJ is a better design.
  8. I’ve just put together my new KJ Classic II, and am slightly peturbed to see small gaps between each of the segments. They do all overlap, and the metal ring does appear to be seating correctly. Are these just expansion spaces, or am I making an error somewhere? Vishal
  9. But this begs the question, why are you cooking rice in your Kamado?
  10. Silly question, but can the deflector from the AK be used as a pizza stone? Aldi have collected the Kamado, but left the deflector by mistake
  11. Well the kj was delivered today. Have to say I’m impressed with the doped of delivery, and the delivery agent was really helpful too. All in all, Bbqland have really impressed me
  12. Costco out of stock on the KJ classic II again!
  13. Can't thank you enough for this! Just ordered from them, and cancelled costco. £808, takes me almost £200 further away from spousal danger 😜
  14. Xmas has arrived. Costco have just put stock back up on their website at £999.99 including the KJ cover. Woohoo.
