  1. I'm in South Wales, CF43. That price didn't include any P&P as they are 5 mins away from me and I can collect. I would have preferred stainless but at that price mild steel works for me 🍺
  2. I’ve been looking at pizza steels and replacement deflector plates online and have settled on having them cut to spec by a local firm. They quoted me £50 initially for a 35cm pizza stone in 6mm mild steel, that’s their basic price for a one-off order. After a bit of haggling that are doing a 29cm deflector in 4mm for me, and a 35cm pizza steel in 6mm. The grand total for both is £60 😁👍
  3. Going great thanks - I haven't tried anything too adventurous yet but it's successfully served up Turkish chicken kebabs, a few ribeye steaks, sausages, Halloumi and a few veg kebabs without any issues. Controlling the heat seams really straightforward thanks to all of the good advice on this forum and YouTube. I built the table top for my new BBQ table project today, it's had one coat of oil so far and it's hiding in my shed away from the showers that keep threatening to open up. Hopefully that will be complete by the end of next week as I'm still waiting for some 2x4's to be delivered Any sign of yours yet @Welsh Dan?
  4. Fingers crossed for you Dan, it would be a shame to miss the good weather this weekend 👍

    Hi from wales

That’s looking really good, some real character in that timber and for £20 you can’t go wrong! My place has a big deck out front (last year’s project!) with views across and down the Rhondda Fach valley, so a big table on wheels would work well for me. I’ll post some photos once I get started 😁👍

    Hi from wales

Looking good - I’ve just ordered some timber for a big BBQ table, going to base it on this design with a few tweaks to maximise the space. It’s going to be mounted on big castors so I can move it around my deck 👍
  7. I found the same, and like you I went without the split washers in the end. After chipping a little of the coating off the handle using the spanner provided I used a 10mm ring spanner to tighten the remaining dome nuts and it worked a treat 👍

    Hi from wales

It’s looking ok so far, I’m up towards the Brecon Beacons so the weather can be quite changeable - I need a BBQ shack for my new toy I think

    Hi from wales

Not much gloating going on here considering the weather guys 🌧🌧😁
  10. I spent about 10 minutes trying different ways to peel off the backing and for the life of me I couldn't find anything remotely self adhesive on there! I resorted to using double sided carpet tape to keep them in-place whilst the Kamado was lifted on.

    Hi from wales

Mine arrived with a very small chip on the lid, about 3mm diameter. I’m not too bother to be honest, it seems that Kamados with worse chips from previous years are still going strong so I can live with it

    Hi from wales

I received an email on Tuesday with a link to the tracking website, and the website was updated yesterday to show delivery today. I also got a text message yesterday late afternoon confirming delivery today. All together it has been a great delivery process and far quicker than I expected. Good luck with your delivery (and the roof)!

    Hi from wales

I ordered around 5am on Sunday, it arrived about 5pm this evening and it's now cured and ready for an initial cook tomorrow. I was using a Weber gas grill before and I’m already really impressed by the AK - I can see an outdoor kitchen project on my horizon now 👍

    Hi from wales

Welcome Adam, I’ve just joined myself and have found some really useful info here on the site. My Kamado is currently 8 stops away from me and I can’t wait!
