  1. Apologies if this is in the wrong place.Β

And I'm having to use my phone to upload 😏

I'm using my offset smoker today for baby back ribs. I made a hot and spicy sauce and let them marinate overnight.Β

I'm trying out a new method with the coals, kind of a snake method. By new method I mean new to me, on the offset.Β

I added a piece of oak, just to see what it does to the flavour.Β

I just noticed the ribs look like a lobster πŸ˜‚. Must do a better trimming job next time!

    Did a 3-2-1 on these....turned out fantastic πŸ‘πŸ˜‹πŸ˜Š

Received some Angus and Oink rubs today, looking forward to honey and chilli wings this weekend 🀀

I meant to stick some dirty cow in but seems I forgot to add to cart, so will have to make another order in the near future. Poor me..

Anyone else have a particular favourite I should look to add.?🀀

I like the rubs from Firefly. Also like to make my own, but Firefly pig rub is the best, for me at the moment.Β

  3. Cheers for that

I have seen some people smoke frozen food. As Smoking says I'd rather defrost first in the normal safe manner then cook from chilled especially with chicken. As for supermarket wings I wouldn'tΒ worry about it. While butcher is better, any cut of meat smoked is a bonus and it all comes down to your budget and especially atm not everyone can get out to get their normal supplies.Β

    cheers for that πŸ‘

  4. Just a quick one, I probabably missed it somewhere, but where do those that use offset smokers get their wood supply from?

I can find suppliers of apple, oak and such online, but i would like some bigger split pieces of wood.

Would help me get a longer, lower cook out of my smoker.

    Thanks in advance, S.

  5. Hello all.

I've seen in many YouTube videos people have made their own steel charcoal boxes for offset smokers. Has anyone here ever made their own and have any tips? I've used my offset smoker 3 times now, 1st time was seasoning and the charcoal grill grate looks like it's suffering.Β

I have the Cosmo xxl smoker 90kgΒ

    Cheers 🍻

  6. Hello everyone.

Like many others on here, I found the forum by googling BBQ smokers.

I've been grilling, and smoking on a weber kettle (Not the fancy one with the temperature guage) for about 3 years now. Its a great little kettle.

Had some great food cooking on it, but I've decided to move on. After much deliberaton I opted for an offset smoker. I like a challenge, and from what I've seen on "Facetube" and "Mybook", I could face one!

I look forward to sharing my experiences with you all.

    Happy grilling and BBQ'n!
