  1. Ain't that always the way! Fixes stuff that was broken and breaks stuff that wasn't broken 🙄
  2. That's fairly shite. When you've done cooking, it might be worth a full factory reset?
  3. Did it come up with an error code?
  4. No, exactly - 15f is neither here nor there but I would like to know which one is correct! At least when my Weber thermo is saying 200f, the Maverick is showing the right temp 😁 As you say, so much easier than the ProQ - I had the SF up & running in 20mins, it used to take me bloody hours to get the ProQ up to speed! I'm using the Weber Hickory as apparently it has a 'moderate' smoky flavour so will be interesting to see - I love a strong smoke flavour but my wife isn't so keen so the proof will be in the eating 👍
  5. Interestingly, I’ve just connected up an old Maverick remote thermometer system and it’s constantly showing 15°f hotter than the temp probe of the EX6.... The Smokefire temp really has been up & down like you wouldn’t believe but now, after 90 mins, has settled at target - be interesting to see how it holds it from now on 😳 Agree with the point about the graphing - mind you, that would very quickly show any inconsistencies! Bet Weber will be in no rush to implement this 🙄 FWIW, I’ve put a foil container of water below the butt to add a bit of moisture & more importantly, catch the grease.
  6. Well, I’ve put in a big old Boston butt this morning. Was 5° C outside and it took about 18mins to get to 225°f. Didn’t hold the temp very well though initially - was up at 315°f then down to 170°f. As I type it’s back down to 170 🙄 Oh well, we’ll see how it goes....
  7. That's great news! Any top tips so far on cooking with the beast?
  8. TBH, I fired mine up yesterday to do the post build 600f burn and it behaved flawlessly. The truth will be in a cook though 🙄
  9. And actually, looking closer at Harry Soo's video, I definitely have the upgraded hopper insert (which has the tab screwed onto the finger guard)....
  10. I saw that on Trendkill's page - I will be pressing Weber UK to make sure we get this all welded one.... I might go & take mine apart just to check...
  11. Do the tops of your chute's have sealant between the chute and the side of the pellet box?
  12. I built the grill yesterday & noticed that when I tightened the bolts that connect the ash/grease holder to the front legs, the enammeled metal bit wasn't quite long enough. So when I fully tightened them, the metal bent a bit & the enammel came off. I contacted Weber with a couple of photo's and they are sending me a new part. Result. I mentioned that with the motor having a 'Rev D' sticker, please could they also send me the updated chute, motor & auger (Auger Chute (Part 69374), Hopper Insert (69230), Plate (69377)), their reply just now was: I replied back mentioning the Rev D etc & I'll report back as to what they say. For info here are the pics I sent Weber
  13. Oh well, bored by the quarantine so have ordered an EX6 so hopefully here next week 👍
  14. Hi guys - new to this forum but have been charcoal smoking on & off for a few years (new kids got in the way for the past 2-3!). I've got an old gas grill too and I might be able to persuade the Mrs that £1400 for a BBQ is good if I can replace both the charcoal & gas grill with this Smokefire! From everything I've seen, the problems are being sorted out (the fun of being an early adopter - Betamax?) but apart from low & slow smoking, what's the Smokefire like at normal BBQ'ing? Could it replace a bog standard 4 burner gas BBQ? Oh, and if it can wipe out CV19, it's a surefire buy 😁 Thanks for any info! Nic
