  1. And damson gin or brandy!? 😁

I have only recently turned the garden into a garden. I love things that don't need a lot of attention and come back each year, I also love stuff you can help yourself to whilst pottering about. I have rhubarb,  and herbs but have also planted one of each-  quince, damson, medlar, plum, a hardy kiwi, a couple of honey berries, a mahonia, a saskatoon and encouraged a self seeded himalayan honeysuckle. We also have a rampant loganberry. There are a handful of medlars this year but everything else is just getting settled. I've never tasted half of them so we shall see....

  2. Been reading this with a sinking feeling having not long purchased my Landmann (different model but expecting similar glitches) and now both my piggy banks are well and truly empty (one contains £, the other is a hypothetical one that contains my wife's indulgence and good will!).

Thanks Jfeeney for giving me hope, as long as I am able to churn out some half decent food, the second piggy bank will start to refill, (the first will take a little longer), however, I think there is just enough in both to support a little "modding."

You may notice the number of watches on your YouTube go up, that will be mostly me 😆

  3. Hi,

I have a Landmann Vinson 200 and am wanting to locate it under a roof/shelter. My plan is to extend the flue so that it will pass through the roof.

Has anyone extended a flue and if so do you have and tips/hints/guidance?

I was considering having a flue with a damper in to give me a little bit of control over the draw. Again any observations/guidance gratefully received!

    Thanks!

  4. Hi, I live in Somerset and work as deputy head teacher. My sister treated me to a day's instruction in smoking, curing and drying with Turan Turan. I immediately came come and built a cold smoker out of an old wooden barrel which provided our smoked salmon and cheese for Christmas day. I have just reclaimed the garden after 4yrs hard labour (Don't talk to me about clay and flint) and originally wanted to have a built-in bbq/smoker. I was saving up and then accidentally bought a Landmann Vinson 200. I am very much an enthusiastic novice but thoroughly enjoying eating my experiments. I have never blogged, vlogged or been a member of a forum before.
