  1. Thanks. Very useful video. Just need to find some wood chunks now!
  2. Thanks. I believe certain woods will give you a bad taste though? I.e. birch
  3. Hi All, I'm from the West Midlands and just bought my first smoker (Landmann Kentucky) . Found some fantastic information on here and tons of videos on YouTube! There is some information I'm a tad confused on...I know I need to use kiln dried logs but does this need to be the flavoured wood i.e. pecan, ash etc? Are these in addition to flavoured wood chips?
  4. Haha no worries. I will take it out the box and measure up soon. Thanks for your help
  5. Haha. That's just from what I've read on this thread...I'm thinking it's easier to get the bits before I start putting it all together rather than dismantling it and adding rope/sealant.
  6. Ah yes, the 'thin blue smoke'? I will see if there's any timber places local to me that have these. Just the one pack of the stove tape? I thought they come in 1m lengths? I will have a look. Thanks
  7. The other question I have, what kind of wood do I need for the logs? I take it these don't need to be flavoured as it's the wood chips that have flavour?
  8. Thanks Ice. That's the same one I'm going to be using. So I can use this for even where the firebox clamps the top and bottom half? I've read on here I need 6m...Is that inc all the joints or was that just for going round the 2 lids?
  9. Just joined the forum and read through all 12 pages! I've just received my Landmann yesterday and can't wait to get it up and running. I'll be adding the rope and clamps before firing it up. Just one question, which heat silicone can I use? Does it need to be a certain type? Thanks
