Because of the difference in the way the charcoal basket sits, it may need a different configuration. But as said earlier, type of fuel, conditions, how the charcoal is burning during the cook, can all affect performance. But practice makes perfect and you will get an idea for yourself.

You could always contact ProQ through social media means and ask what they recommend. Hopefully they can give you some guidance, if it continues to be a problem going forward.and there seem to be quite a few 2018 models owners on here that will be able to help.

Weirdly its now gone to 300 degrees and cooking like a mofo!

First cook. Struggled

Started well getting to 300 degrees, added water, dropped to 200.

added brisket, stayed level for 2 hrs

now dropped to 150.......ugh

Topped warm water up after 2hrs

Using Restaurant grade charcoal
