For that size, with the optional doors, £300. That is built to order and delivered in sections on a pallet. They even send a driver end for your screwdriver in with the screws.

Minimal assembly. The base, sides and roof are fully complete. You just screw the back posts and sides to the base, attach the two back panels, throw on the central front post, fix the roof down to that lot and then attach the doors. Even the hinges are premounted.

    Hi Mick,

Yes, It's still doing its job perfectly.

Covid has delayed all sorts of things, including my plans to get another section of the garden levelled off and a shack built. So, by pure fluke, it was great timing getting this.

It still houses the small kamado and the Pro Q. Although to be honest, I have only used the Pro Q for cold smoking since I got a large Kamado that sits outside of this unit. I sometimes move the small kamado out and use its space to use a Weber Go Anywhere for a quick grill when the weather is like today.

It has made my outdoor cooking life easier, more consistent and less disrupted by weather. A great investment for me.

    Phil.

    Appreciate your response Phil.

Real estate is my real problem but your original post and follow up has basically made my mind up.

    Many thanks

    Mick.

Are you still using it as I'm looking for something similar and your link still works, although it has gone up!

    It looks the nuts!

  3. Hi Peeps,

Convinced I was going to get a ProQ Frontier, but now might go WSM 45cm.... Anyway, my question is either or, should I go large?

    57cm/50cm opposed to 45/43cm

I have a large family (5 sons, spouses and grand/great-grand children) but we only all get together as a unit maybe twice a year. However, its me and the wife week in week out and maybe one or two of the boys (they live local)....

So, when they are all here I would need the bigger but would that be useable for just me and wifey?

    Any advise would be welcome.

    Cheers

Good  mate, much of a muchness I have the smaller wsm and love it but the pro Q is also a very nice choice Tips I have the smokefire mod on mine which really helps dial it in. and of course stove rope to seal up the looser parts around the door and lid, plus I have added a hinge which  i got form the pro q store.  The hinge is a good idea as otherwise the inconvenience of the lid  being put down picked up whilst not a problem is nice to get rids off. I also fill the water bowl with sand not water as a heatsink. I line the bowl with foil too so it is easy to clean.

Top tips Justin, appreciated. Would said mods be required on a WSM?

  5. Hi all,

Relatively new to 'low & slow' and so far I have been using a Weber kettle with some success (baby back ribs, whole chicken etc).

I have decided to get myself a standalone 'smoker' and have more or less decided on a ProQ, I also looked at the Weber Smokey Mountain but after reading many reviews I have decided on the former.

So here I am looking for tips and advice etc.

    Cheers

    Mick
