  1. Cooked a bbq for 8 people yesterday with ease, nothing extravagant just wagyu burgers, jumbo hotdogs, thighs and drumsticks, kofte kebabs and halloumi burgers but everything turned out super tasty.

  2. So, after spending countless hours online searching for a kamado then finding out that landmann have discontinued their kamado so no bargains through my mums work, I took the plunge and purchased a 21" from Ebay priced at £479 including shipping which arrived it 2 days so props to the seller for that, I also purchased a nova 21" universal divide and conquer system priced at £126.99.

I gotta say guys I'm very impressed with the quality of both items. I seasoned the beast last night and it held temp very well. Considering most of the kamados are made in China anyways why pay more than you have to for a flash name to be on it, although the stainless cradle stand is good quality I will be building a hardwood bench with polished concrete worktop for it once I've finished landscaping the garden.

All the components are stainless steel or cast iron, everything sits and fits well no smoke leakage from the joints.

I guess all I can say is if anyone is curious/apprehensive about buying one of these then don't be unless your expectations are sky high you won't be disappointed.

I'll update once I've one some proper cooking/smoking/grilling

I did go and have a gander, they look good but would be nice to hear from someone who owns one, most things look good in the pictures!

Agreed, I think I'm just gonna take the plunge, they can't be any worse than the ones on eBay for £500+, at least with these you get a manufacturers 20 year guarantee

  4. Wandering off a little here but I've just found out my mums boss can get landmann bbqs from one of his suppliers, does anyone here have experience with the kamado as although I'm unsure of prices as of yet I'm pretty certain they will be at least 25% less than retail. Which brings me to my next question are there any other landmann grills worth considering?

Lastly if there's anyone interested in a landmann grill I'm sure I can add items on to my order and share the discount with you guys.

  5. What's cooking folks,

hi all the names Luke, I'm new to the forum and world of smoking meats ( well cooking it anyways, I've eaten plenty of deliciousness haha )

    I've just purchase my first home and as a result I'm currently in the market for a good all rounder and very interested in the kamado grills, mainly the Aldi one which I started to research causing me to stumble across you lovely lot. So I guess I have a several questions really ;

    1. Is a kamado a good all rounder?

    2. I'm used to my old man's napoleon gas bbq so will the transition be easy enough that I don't ruin everything I cook?

    3. I'm on a budget after shelling out 25k on a house refurb so is the Aldi model any good?

    4. For those who have bought the Aldi model what is the diameter of the grill itself, as my other options are a 24 inch pit boss from Costco priced at £639.99 or 21 inch unbranded on eBay for £449.00

    5. Can anyone suggest a quality comparison or alternative within my budget, I'd like to stay under £500 so the Costco pit boss is a little stretch.

Any and all suggestions/advice from well seasoned smokers is greatly appreciated.

    many thanks in advance

    luke
