I’ll be taking my Dutch oven with me in a couple of weeks when we go away for a few days. Looking forward to a break. Until then I’ve done a few on the bbq. Got some fillet steaks on there yesterday.

Justin
Yes, did admire your inverter at last tailgate. Anyway will put something on for first smoke on the ne Traeger ranger deli roast silverside beef, or smoked burgers, or smoked pork chops. Deciding.... Or this lol his type of generator is less efficient and more expensive than a gasoline-powered generator, but it’s superior in every other way. Using a TEG is a way to convert temperature differences into electricity. In a camping situation, the generator harvests some of the energy created from the temperature difference between two points. The beauty of this option is that you can use a TEG even in a wilderness situation by building a fire and using the banked coals for the heat source. The down side to choosing a thermoelectric generator is that they cost slightly more than gasoline generators. AdamG
For my entry i decided on something simple. I needed to be confident I could cook if I was camping. Just a cast iron flat plate, a dutch oven and whatever grill I would have....I say this because the only grill I have is a kamado and there would be no way I could take it camping due to the weight and size haha. Its beef bourguignon. Full write up is here if your interested... Edited August 7 by AdamG Added link
Smokin Monkey
That looks great @AdamG. Love the two stage cooking of the Beef, firstly searing it then cooking in Cast Iron, which is my favorite method of cooking!
AdamG
The cooking in sauce part would hopefully be my insurance that it turns out edible if I was camping😂🤣😂
Justin
Burgers on the Traeger Ranger with signature pellets. 6 oz 1 inch thick burgers. 1 tsp brown sugar and again of ancho chilli flakes 1/4 tsp chipotle flakes. 1/4 tsp pepper 1/2tsp of salt 1 tsp onion granules and 1 clove garlic crushed. 110c on the Ranger. 1 1/4 hour to 71c. I flashed 30 secs or so each side in hot cast iron skillet on hob. Nice and smoky and chilli on the taste. Rock solid keeping temp on Ranger. Easy to clean. Very impressed with the Ranger. Super Easy. Reliable. Good
