Smokeless Charcoal BBQ

Hi, I am thinking of building a BBQ that cuts down on on the Carbon Monoxide usually released by them. I just wanted to get some feedback on whether people liked the idea and what I should include in the design. I understand that there are already smokeless grills on the market but I would like both to not use gas as a fuel as that can take away from flavour and also not to be dependent on electrical components as I would like it to be portable and having to charge batteries or feed a cable out to your garden is always annoying.

Really like this idea  

I used to have incredibly bad asthma and every time we wanted to have a barbecue in the garden I would have to go inside because the smoke made me wheeze  . Hope it goes well

Seems like an interesting idea but, how can you manage to cut down the carbon monoxide? I dont get it 🤔
