Gary
Hi My friends suggested I post about the enhancements I have made to my Weber Smokey Joe. I cut the grill in half and inserted a couple of bolts so the two halves of the grill can still be supported . I then inserted a divider on the charcoal grill beneath this. I fill just half of this area with charcoal. I then BBQ and when it is browned I move this to the lower level which I have lined with foil. Because this is next to the charcoal its good indirect cooking. I then replace the grill and cook the next few items moving them to the area above the food below so they can cook indirectly. This more than doubles the capacity of the smokey joe. I can easily cook for 4/6 on this arrangement. Works best with charcoal as the restricted airflow is not enough for bricketts I have found. See the attached pictures regards Gary
