You do ! The fact that SF was battery powered rather than mains was one of the stand out features i wanted. I use an Anker one i purchased from Amazon. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01N0X3NL5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_RAGYCbR4MAZRK I have a couple of older ones (5 years+) and they seem to work well also. The new one is the biggest capacity, but i needn't have worried. I did a 10 1/2 cook on Friday last week and none of the 4 charge indicator lights went out. I feel it would run for a 2 or 3 days on that pack. Certainly enough for a weekend camping. There are some battery packs on the market that stop charging if the demand for power is very low. When the fan is not running on a SF, the power usage is very low and can trigger this. I have never experienced it myself. Phil.
sotv
I got this one from Amazon after recommendation on a vaping forum I use. Same as Phlashter used it for 14 hours on a test run and only 1 of the 4 lights had gone out. Whatever you choose 20000mah should be more than adequate for a cook and the smartfire needs along with charging your phone if on Bluetooth
Icefever
Funny I've been looking on Amazon this morning and looked at both of these....as I'm prime I can get one by tomorrow, then I would like to try a dry run on Sunday just to get my head around it. Icefever
How come these power packs don't come with a charger??? are they a mini USB socket like samsung for the charging? Ice. Edited June 27, 2019 by Icefever
sotv
I would imagine their thinking is most people have a houseful already with phones, tablets, kindles, vaping etc helps keep costs down? Whatever you choose 20000mah should be more than adequate for your needs. Cheaper options if needed available I am sure, especially if you have Prime and don't have to pay delivery under £20

Mostly, but some do have other sockets. Most mobiles use micro USB, but some have USB C and Apple have lightning. Just double check before you buy.
