Phlashster
Sorry, no real content here. But I am excited. I have ordered a Plancha for my Frontier and it is going to be delivered tomorrow. Couple that with a dry weekend and for the first time in *weeks* I am at home. I should be a very happy lad this weekend. 🍔🥩🥓 Phil.

Phlashster
OK, ready? The plancha arrived today. Yay! So a quick look at the forecast...great...no rain. Lets get seasoning! After 3 or 4 layers of oil, it was time. 20% supermarket mince. The best i could do at this time of night. Only salt and pepper as they are cooked. No other seasoning. SMASH !!! Once confidence gained from the first one, a few more. No picture in a bun. Come on, you know what a burger looks like! Phil.
sotv
Looks good. heavy bit of kit isn't it. Certainly wouldn't want to drop it on your toes 🏥
Phlashster
Yes, very hefty! Feel like I had a workout! The burgers were lovely. Not mince I have used before, so not a fair comparison. sotv
As it made from cast iron, after cleaning it I rub a small coating of vegetable oil over the cooking surface, till I next use it. Hopefully it will stop it rusting over time. Did you test the temperature to see what you managed to get it up to Edited June 20, 2019 by sotv
Justin
I alwsys use 20% fat mince fir burgers. Much better flavour and juicey. Not dry.
Phlashster
Yes, that's what I use when it's just me. Normally use lower fat mince when cooking for the wife and friends. Might try lower fat next time. Some must've run off the edge. See what mess I have to clear up in the morning when it is cool.
Raptor72
Use minimum 15 on burgers and meatballs. Concur with Justin on the dryness on lean mince
sotv
Anybody who has one of these able to measure the bottom bit , of the T-bar lifting mechanism, lost mine. Nearest thing I can find for a replacement is one of those Manhole cover T-bars, just need to know how wide it is at the bottom so when I try and lift it out, it won't slip out and drop on my foot. 😀 Edited August 10, 2019 by sotv

sotv
Thanks very much for that. Going to pick one up from Plumbase for a couple of quid. If not the right size and have to switch to online, can quote those measurements now if necessary. 👍
Icefever
That should work ok...by the looks of it you will have to file/grind the bottom lug down to fit thou?? Ice.
