  1. Too bad the ribs were such a big hit! 😂
  2. I have a new 18 inch Fornetto Rasso smoker and I've just cooked on it six times with mostly delicious results. I've been wondering if I can take out one of the body rings since I'm only putting food on the top grill grate and am not using the baskets at all. Any opinions please? Oughtn't it to save fuel, but at what price, if any?
  3. To be honest, I rarely go in the store. They haven't been rude. Just difficult to find a knowledgeable assistant when I have visited!
  4. Hi all, I'm usually the last to know but thought I'd post anyway! Outdoor and BBQ sale at B and Q until Monday, 3rd August. Every little helps, as they say.
  5. I agree, Captain. I need to get to know the smoker I've got, and it is plenty big for most cooks I intend to do.
  6. FYI, there's a Fornetto user's group Facebook page that's quite active and helpful as well for us to bounce ideas off. Lots of good opinions and advice, here and there. Enjoy your trip to Cornwall!
  7. Hi Captain and all, My dog loves your name! Actually, I did buy the 18 incher and have cooked some beef, chicken thighs, spare ribs and lamb shoulder. I'm glad you bought yours on eBay. In some ways I would like the 22". Has anyone cooked ribs in the Razzo baskets? I'm thinking I'd need to use those baskets if I invited people over. Would I have to move the ribs around from grate to basket for even cooking?
  8. Welcome. Lots of good advice here!
  9. Yes, the academy. Had a couple of job offers, one in Newcastle and the other near Chicago, so I went to America. Then it was just easier to stay. Moved to Boston and then near San Francisco. Thanks, smash. I'd seen BBQ Barn was in Sidcup. Good to know about Ruxley having supplies too. Decades ago now, I was one of the lucky ones (?!) to be sent to Bexleyheath School, so we're as good as neighbours! Afterwards, I headed north to Durham and then off to the US.....
  10. Thank you Wade for the link to your tutorial on trout prep and cooking. I hope to take a day trip to Bewl Water before to long. Trouble is that I'm a newbie at fly fishing and have only caught one trout so far!

  12. Hi everyone. I've already found out a lot in the few days since I registered. I've spent 33 years in the US but am now back part time in UK. I've only ever used a Weber Smokey Joe and a gas grill, but am looking forward to trying some bbq smoking. I'm glad I've joined the forum.
  13. Many thanks for your opinions. Thanks too to the person who posted about the Razzo being on sale on eBay. The 18" for £185 and the 22" for £225 (plus shipping). I'll probably go for the 18 incher, but the larger model for £225 sounds like a great buy. I also like the idea of smoking some trout using the hooks in the lid. Need to catch the fish rather than relying on Morrison's! Thanks again!
  14. I've been looking at various bullet smokers as a first bbq grill and wondered what the differences were between the different grill sizes. Specifically I had seen the Fornetto Razzo, WSM, ProQ. Is one size easier to maintain temperature? What is the difference in cooking on the various shelves? Is it easier to cook meat if all on the same rack vs on separate racks? I was leaning towards the 18 inch Razzo, but would appreciate your comments. Thanks in advance.
