Any update on the Alfresco pellets?

I'd have taken advantage of those prices and got myself a load.... Happy grilling! (yet slightly jealous!) The latest news on the ex4 is that it's still not reaching its peak and dropping temp quickly. Have a freebie bag to do some test runs over a few hours, so I'll see how it goes. Regretting closing it down for winter as was working a dream Sept / Oct time!

Have managed to get the new auger in and same situation struggling to get over 260. Plus the temperature seems to drop really quickly when lid opened. Very odd. All upto date with firmware and software and new glow plugs too. I'm at a loss!

First cook this year, excitedly waited for the updates to happen. New bag of pellets opened and off I went. Struggled to get over 260c, followed by auger jam and abandoned cook due to the loss of heat. Will be putting that email into weber!

Does anyone have know of the ex4 has the welded auger or is it just the ex6? My ex4 has been in the garage for months now and I'm itching to get it out. I'm seeing there is a revised version launched down under and the auger cropped up in my head. Obviously if its amended then I'd like the update, but also its OK at the moment well was last time round.... So who knows how may react once latest updated done.

I've been having a few problems where I have not been been getting any notifications about low pellets. No error codes or a big deal as I regularly check. I only contacted to see if I could troubleshoot it somehow.... I'm having a new motherboard shipped, apparently its easier to fix than replacing the sensor!

What's people's opinion... 26 minutes from 0 - 315C with nothing in. Sure it never took that long previous. Ex4 model

Those that have received welded auger etc are you using the ex4 or ex6?

Did you get much smoke on startup after using these pellets? I've noticed that if I use non weber pellets then the first start up it bellows smoke. Same if it doesn't shut down properly, it's almost like there's a dump that just smokes. Happy to have positive reviews from an alternative.

Purchased from wowbbq. Will also drop them a line too. Will contact weber and see what happens. Watch this space.

Another interesting day today....opened up the grill, removed every part of the jam, good clean etc. Ditched the GMG pellets, replaced with weber apple. Everything started off fine, white smoke turned darker and darker, eventually see attached. Temperature stayed at 35c according to the display and shortly after the photo was taken the lid popped. Frightened the hell out of me! Having a young child around this has severely knocked my confidence in this unit. It feels like a bit of a liability due to the unpredictability. Anyone have any ideas as to what could have happened to get the in this state?

So.... Another failed attempt with the GMG pellets. Think I'll have to try and see if I can get a refund for the other bag and stick with the weber ones.

First cook with the new update and a change of pellets to GMG. Disaster struck. Everything seemed OK but there was no heat being generated. It was very strange pellets through at a very slow rate and minimal quantity. Eventually gave up and removed the gubbins to find a clump blocking the route of everything. Put everything back together and jigged stuff about, it started to heat up well. My pan fried steak was at least good 😁

I've only tried weber ones at the moment, but will be buying some GMG in the next few weeks. Like yourself I want to stock up, so I'll be watching this thread.
