  1. In other news. Ocado have got 15kg restaurant best grade lump three for two. If you haven’t used Ocado before the code below will give a further £20 off the first two shops. VOU0509520
  2. My replacement has arrived. Perfect nick. No imperfections. The delivery driver did say they had collected almost as many as they had delivered due to damage!
  3. Yep. I’ve got a master touch. Cracking bit of kit. Can’t fault it. What it isn’t is a Kamado. If you intend doing anything that requires long cooks it’ll be fair easier on the Kamado. Temp control is far far easier. Don't get me wrong. The Weber is great. It’s horses for courses at the end of the day.
  4. My suspicion is that it’s due to the fact that the retailer is also an agent for Kamado Joe. If it wasn’t for the difference in warranty there would be very little to differentiate between the two to the casual observer. Who manufactures the ceramic for Kamado Joe? Anyone know that it isn’t Auplex?
  5. I would go with that mate. Can’t say fairer really.
  6. Do they break? Anyone had one break? How do they fail? Other than obviously dropping things which wouldn’t be covered?
  7. I’ve only just realised what they offered you. They offered me 10% off. Once I stopped laughing, I said I would want at least £100 she disappeared off spoke to a manager who agreed to £100. I still went for a replacement. If this ones damaged I’m going to return it and buy a wild goose, which looks to be pretty much identical to a Kamado Joe classic.
  8. If you get one that’s not damaged they are bloody good value. Kamados are not complicated bits of kit and neither are the materials they are made of.
  9. That’s literally identical to the fault I had on my first one. Identical. It’s not on the left hand side of the lid as you look at the front is it? It’s also worth mentioning that the box on the one I returned was perfect, no visible damage at all. The way they are packed makes me pretty certain the damage was on mine before it went in the box. La hacienda also confirmed to me that they had no spare ceramic components, as in not out of stock, they never have them.
  10. There is a pole on the Aldi Kamado Facebook group with that info, well with a sample size of the group members
  11. I’m still waiting for my replacement. They put it through on the 8th. Still no despatch confirmation. I’ve just got off the phone to them. They assured me they definitely have stock to fulfil all orders placed including replacements as they are processed as new orders, so count down on the stock. They told me to phone back on the 21st as that will be 10 working days since the new order. Not sure weather to believe them or not. Guess we will see.
  12. Hi Liam, I emailed la hacienda pictures of the damage on mine, which was much less than yours judging by the picture. They responded saying they would not be willing to say anything other than get it replaced as it wasn’t “sound” and they couldn’t guarantee how it would react to heating/cooling. I’m now waiting for the replacement to arrive. With hindsight I think they were being overly cautious. Based on the high volume that are being delivered damaged, and advice on here from people who clearly know what they are talking about, if the next one arrives with the same level or less of damage I will be keeping it. That said, the damage on yours looks very visible and even if I was sure it would function correctly forever I think I would want it replaced. At the end of the day, despite being cheap for what they are, it’s still 350 quid.
  13. If you take pictures and send them in, they’ll offer you money off or a replacement
  14. I’m chuffed mate. At least we know they can be delivered without damage
