  1. Any tips for winter storage of the Kamado? Is it ok to leave it out as long as it has its cover on? I plan to use it on dry days so any advice would be appreciated thanks.
  2. Thanks Paul i tinkered with it after the cook and took it out, held the nut with a spanner to the rear and the housing moved around allowing the needle to rest on zero. It then went back in no issues. It’s just handy to have for a glance when cooking pizzas as I have learnt to my cost that the inkbird probes don’t like temps of 350c!!
  3. Happy Sunday folks - looking for some help. The temp gauge on my Kamado is not “resting” at zero, is there a way to reset the needle?
  4. I am still on the hunt for a basket and the ProQ updates are really interesting earlier on in this forum. I can whole heartedly recommend the Steel Smokin kits and plancha - I went for the full kit and the quality and service is excellent. Other than that a good thermometer and you are good to go and experiment. I have always had charcoal bbqs so this aspect wasn’t a huge leap for me but I found “Hot Coals” a good read when I got it as a gift (Amazon has it) as an intro to Kamados in general - also give BBQ life UK a look and follow on YouTube, and he also posts here. Enjoy.
  5. Exactly how I got mine in April - great news mate and enjoy when it comes.
  6. Morning i ordered mine on the 26th. I got a pre alert from the couriers on the 30th (XDP) that they were getting it and it was then delivered on Tuesday. I’m sure it’s on the way
  7. Thanks Adam appreciate the quick reply and advice 👍🏻
  8. Evening folks - newbie here that’s just received notification that my AK is being picked up by the couriers (no delivery date yet). Have always used charcoal bbqs but first toe dip into Kamados and as usual I am going down rabbit holes looking on YouTube and forums for my soon to be new fixation! Loving the tips on here - I have ordered my Alderline charcoal and I’m looking at temp gauges. One question - if you had to give me one piece of advice starting out, what would it be?
  9. Been a devote charcoal user for years and always had a hankering for low and slow, and just to try out different types of cooking. Took the plunge and awaiting the AK, and lost hours browsing this site yesterday! Can’t wait.......
